Holiday Party

We hold a holiday party each year in November with a large raffle, an auction, and good food and drink. The Rick Ellis Award is given out at this meeting to the member who has done the most to forward the goals of the chapter.

Stocking

Each spring and fall chapter volunteers assist the state DEP to stock area streams. Many of our members volunteer. In the spring and fall we float stock streams using floating live carts to distribute the fish. This involves wading up to a mile downstream. This is a good way to get to know a stream in company with other members who know the waters well. See our stocking page for more details.

Family Fishing Day

We hold a family fishing day each spring at the Quinebaug Hatchery fishing ponds. This is a good place to teach your children how to fish. TU members are there to assist. We hold a cookout as part of this event.

Annual Campout

Early in June we have a campout by the Shetucket River at Sandy Beach. The property is made available by Henry Konow and his family. This is an overnight campout with an open air breakfast the next day. Members are welcome to campout or just come to the breakfast.

Yard Sale

In the spring we hold a fund raising yard sale. Donations of items for sale are welcomed.

Stream Cleanups and Other Work Parties

From time to time we put together work parties to clean the banks of area streams and to do other conservation work. Watch the calendar page for times and places.
