Board of Directors Meetings
Board meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of all months except June and July. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the TU members and guests. If you would like to discuss a concern with us or just come and listen you are welcome to attend.
Stream Cleanups and Other Conservation Work Parties
From time to time we put together work parties to clean the banks of area streams and to do other conservation work. Watch the calendar page for times and places.
Fly Tying and Fly Casting Classes
Each winter we hold fly tying classes for all levels (novice to expert) and conduct fly casting classes and clinics usually in the spring
Stocking
Each spring and fall chapter volunteers assist the state DEEP to stock area streams. Many of our members volunteer. In the spring and fall we float stock streams using floating live carts to distribute the fish. This involves wading up to a mile downstream. This is a good way to get to know a stream in company with other members who know the waters well. See our stocking page for more details.
Connecticut Free Fishing Day
Statewide Free Fishing Weekend will be held the second weekend in May.
Annual Membership Camp Out and Breakfast
Late May or early in June we have a camp out by the Shetucket River. This is an overnight camp out with an open air breakfast the next day. Members are welcome to camp out or just come to the breakfast.
Fishing Trips
We will be planning day fishing trips locally and weekend trips to further destinations. Check the Calendar for schedule.
