Moosup River Clean Up 2019

Sprague/Shetucket River Clean-up - April 21, 2018​ Slideshow

As you can see by the pile of trash, we had a pretty productive clean-up day with the Town of Sprague.  All thanks to TVTU members Ray Schaefer, Charley McCaughtry, Gary Lussier, Bruce Danielson, Duke & John Preston, Jerry Gourd, Bob Dee and Jim Valuckus who met at the Grist Mill in Baltic and then dispersed to different areas along the Shetucket River.  There are plans to return to the river at some point to remove many tires discovered near the dam and missed areas due to the high water.

Natchaug River Clean-up / Lunch & Fishing - Sunday April 23, 2017

Another fantastic turn-out for our Natchaug Clean-up!  We policed the river from Diana's Pool to the Trout Park, took in some burgers & hotdogs, mac-salad & Duke's homemade relish, and some fishing too.  A special "Thank You" to the Last Green Valley (for the grant making it all possible), Boy Scout Troop 73 and all the volunteers.  We collected everything from bottles, cans, cigarette butts to heavy metal auto rotors, plastic flower pots, and wooden pallets.
Natchaug River Clean up 16 April 2016

We had a good turn out to spruce-up the Natchaug, a little fishing and lunch to boot!
Yantic River Clean-up 25 May 2015 - We had another good turnout for our first river clean-up of the year.  With the Grant from the Last Green Valley and 15 volunteers we were able to make short work of the Yantic River clean-up.  A special thanks to: Charley McCaughtry, Dixie Goodwin, Linda Pucel, Marc Pucel, Ray Schaefer, Paul Heely, Lance Magnuson, Pete Belisle, Don Avery, Gary Lussier, George DeGray,, Alton Blodget, Bill Bradley, John Preston, and especially to Gene Cyr for coordinating the effort.
Moosup River Clean up 14 May 2016 -

This is only some of the 9 large bags full of trash collected at the end!!  Thanks to a grant from the Last Green Valley and Don Avery, Mike Arndt, Gary Lussier, Gene Cyr, Ray Schaeffer, Duke Preston and Jenn Miner.   Great job!
